2010.004/1 Oral History Interview: Tommy Ralston
Video recording of an oral history interview with Tommy Ralston, made in Mallaig on 15 July 2008. Tommy talks of going to sea on the ring-netter ''Golden Fleece'' with his father and moving to live in Mallaig. He left fishing rather than turn to prawn trawling and combined working with a fishbuyer with crewing the Mallaig lifeboat, eventually becoming coxswain. Also discussed are relative merits of sending fish by road or rail and anecdotes about a number of local people. The interviewer was Bridget Willoughby. Duration 60 minutes.
